If you replace commercial COC with graphene, you can use the characteristics of graphene to obtain unparalleled ultra-thin thickness, bringing ten times the storage capacity of traditional mechanical hard drives, and also have corrosion resistance, low friction, wear resistance, hardness, lubricant compatibility, and surface smoothness.
Moreover, the graphene coating can also be used in conjunction with the HAMR (Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording) technology of mechanical hard drives.
HAMR technology is a technology that increases storage density by heating the recording layer to a high temperature. It can be said to be the most reliable technology for increasing the capacity of civilian mechanical hard drives in the near future.
However, this technology does not work well with previous commercial COC materials, while graphene has very good compatibility with HAMR technology.
Nevertheless, for these technologies, there is still a long way to go before they can be popularized into civilian-level product lines.
In 2020, the global mechanical hard drive shipments reached 1 billion TB. This huge demand can be said to pave the way for the commercial use of these new technologies. Let us wait and see.

The high cost of wire harnesses makes smart cars with lidar not economical and applical.
iPhone with USB-C?
From the perspectives of business, product design, and even accessory ecology, there is still little hope for the iPhone to use the USB-C interface.
